The 7 Deadly Assignments

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 11:45 AM
I honestly hate these assignments for my digital art class. We have to choose 7 out of 9 available topics. Not much freedom given and I'm taking every extra liberty I can snag. I've already made him question his own instructions once. Let's see if I can do it again. Instructions for Assignment #2 said advertisement for salted nuts, ie planters, or other name brand. I chose to invent a brand. He challenged me, I fought back and won. I was going to do a cat bonding with her unborn kittens as assignment 3 didn't state that the mother had to be human, but I struggled too much with that one. As it is I'm currently arguing with him over what I have started with 3.

[x] Assignment 1 : Double Take
[x] Assignment 2 : Advertisment : Salted Nuts
[x] Assignment 3 : Article : Fetal Bonding
[x] Assignment 4 : Book : Favorite Italian Recipes
[x] Assignment 5 : Article : Rover Make-Over
[x] Assignment 6 : Poster : America Goes Metric
[x] Assignment 7 : Poster : Is Quality Healthcare an American Right?

EDIT:

As of October, we're still arguing. The latest arguments are over my favoring Painter as my art program of choice. Everything I've done up until this point has been in Painter and it's driving him crazy. He'd rather me vary it up. I pointed out to him with me working graveyard, I'm not awake when the computer lab is open to use and the only program I've available to me at home has thus far been Painter. I only just got Photoshop and not only is my computer refusing to install it, I don't know how to use it yet. He didn't really care much. Typical of teachers. Regardless, I do know how to use Illustrator and my 6th assignment was easier to do vector so I used that to complete it. It pleased him enough that he probably won't care if I use Painter again for the last assignment.

EDIT #2:

Woohoo! Finally completed all assignments. Just been bullshitting it in class now. Damned teacher wants me to do a few touch ups so other than that I can do what I want now for the next month. I don't mind doing touch ups. Anything for a better grade. I'll post the last two complete assignments once I do the touch ups and add in my watermark. Oh yeah, finally got around to making myself, and now adding, a watermark for my images. I went back and added it to the five previously posted images as well as updated them with the touched up versions.

As I said in my last edit, he was complaining about my lack of variety in program choice. I'm a little upset now. The other person in my class only uses Illustrator. He hasn't told him a damned thing. Quite frankly, I think this teacher's biased. Then again, he could also just be trying to push me. I've had this teacher for classes before. He knows my skill and my style. He could just be trying to help me improve. I just hope it's the latter and not the former as his excuse.

Hey, it's me from comp art class! ^^
:iconbarry17:
Umm... this is kind of random but I stumbled upon you by accident. This is someone you used to know a while back. I was someone who read Densetsu. Barry is my name, and I don't know if you would remember me or not. My old aim was Swift-Yari, if that helps.

Just wanted to say hi.
:iconmeian:
The name Yari rings a bell, yes. Sorry if I'm unable to truely remember you. How is it that you randomly stumbled upon me, if I might ask?

Oh, and sorry for the delayed response.

Impossible's not a word; it's just a reason for someone not to try.

I don't mind being forgotten. I forget people all the time.

We were both part of an InuYasha forum for a short time. I later actually headed a site called InuYasha Demon Chronicles, but that was several years ago. If I'm not mistaken, you had a friend who went by the name of Warui Chibi. She wrote quite a bit of content on the site.

I actually made attempts in the past to find Densetsu after the site went down. A few days ago when I found you here on dA, I wasn't actually searching for Densetsu in particular. I was trying to come up with a name for myself by using Japanese words. I don't remember what I typed in, since it was a few days ago, but I saw some familiar artwork which happened to be yours.
:iconmeian:
I don't even remember Warui Chibi. And I am sorry if I don't quite remember you too well. A year ago I suffered a series of concussions so my memory can get full of holes every now and again. I do remember the site called InuYasha Demon Chronicles.

I pretty much trashed Densetsu and reworked it. It's now in writing form and split into a series of 4 planned novels that, all going well, will hopfully one day be published once I complete them.

I don't mind that you have trouble remembering. You even have a good excuse. Concussions? Ow. I'm surprised you remembered my website though, haha. I still have all of the content from it, but the site itself obviously doesn't exist. I intend to start an anime site eventually, but meh.

That's cool that you're working toward actually publishing manga. It'd be impossible for me to accomplish by myself. Impressive.
